About

Hi, I'm Holly.

I'm a mom of three, the founder of Restorative Roots, and someone who has been passionate about health, wellness, and nutrition for well over a decade.

When I first learned about fresh milled flour, I was honestly blown away. For years, my family ate very little bread because we viewed it as a highly processed food that was lacking in nutrition and didn't offer much health benefit. Like many health-conscious families, bread was one of the first things we cut back on.

Then I discovered fresh milled flour.

The more I learned about freshly milled whole grains, the more fascinated I became. Freshly milled flour contains the entire grain, including the bran, germ, and endosperm, and is naturally rich in fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are often reduced or removed during conventional flour processing.

What I find ironic is that after spending years intentionally avoiding bread, we now eat fresh milled bread regularly and feel good about it. Instead of viewing bread as an empty filler food, we see it as a nourishing food that can have a meaningful place in a healthy diet.

Because I already had experience building a direct-to-consumer food company through Restorative Roots, I saw an opportunity to make fresh milled flour more accessible. Not everyone wants to invest in a grain mill, source grains, and mill flour at home. Others love the idea of fresh milled foods but don't necessarily want to bake from scratch.

That's why I started this business: to make it easier for families to enjoy the benefits of fresh milled flour through freshly milled flour, baking mixes, and ready-made baked goods made with simple ingredients.

I'm so glad you're here, and I hope this business helps bring fresh milled foods back into more kitchens and onto more family tables.
